1st International Animated Film Festival ANIMATOR / 2008
July 7th – 12th, 2008 in Poznan
The Animator-Poznan Festival, whose first edition was planned not by chance for the Year of Polish Animation (as its culmination), will be the largest animated film festival in Poland, fit to rival the world's most significant animation competitions. We would like for the feature of the festival, distinguishing it from similar events, to be the emphasis put on the relationship between animation and music. Animated music films have been a local specialty in Poznan for years. Hence the Special Award of the Jury is intended for the best musical film in the competition.
In addition to the competition open to all kinds of animated films not exceeding 30. minutes, the festival will abound in numerous accompanying events: retrospectives, thematic reviews, concerts, screenings with live music, free admission outdoor screenings, animation workshops and many more attractions. You can also expect to see an extensive presentation of Polish animation studios, with particular emphasis on the Animated Films Studio in Poznan, as well as the achievements of Polish animators working abroad.
