Public awareness campaigns – we all know them, right? Warnings against the dangers of smoking or drinking often gave filmmakers an opportunity to experiment with form and narrative. Jerzy Szajna’s assemblages set to music by Krzysztof Penderecki are anything but propaganda posters. The authorial debut of Longin Szmyd, Antonisz’s legendary bubbles, and educational films about amoebas, water droplets, and atomic structure will all feature in this archival showcase prepared in collaboration with Studio Filmów Rysunkowych in Bielsko-Biała and 35mm.online portal of Wytwórni Filmów Dokumentalnych i Fabularnych in Warsaw.
