Viewers and audiences will have the opportunity to see a selection of Yuasa’s feature-length and short productions, as well as to meet him in the theater during the Poznan festival from June 25-30, 2024.
This year, the Animator International Animated Film Festival will welcome Masaaki Yuasa, one of the world's most respected anime creators.
Masaaki Yuasa, born in 1965 in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, is an animation director who has gained international recognition with his unique productions. His works often feature difficult and serious themes combined with an experimental form of animation. Over the years, he has created films and series aimed at both young and mature audiences.
His creations, such as “Mind Game,” “The Night is Short, Walk On Girl” and “Lu Over the Wall,” have been honored with prestigious awards at festivals, including the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and the Japan Media Arts Festival. His true international acclaim came with productions available on Netflix: “Devilman Crybaby” and “Japan Sinks: 2020,” which helped establish him as one of the most prominent anime creators.
