The 15th edition of the Oscar-qualifying® International Animated Film Festival ANIMATOR 2022 begins in 43 days. We would like to present titles that will have their premiere Polish screenings at the Festival and give you some eagerly awaited info on Festival Passes and accreditations. More details are provided below. See you in Poznań and online!
PREMIERES
During each edition of the ANIMATOR Festival our audiences can watch over 300 animated films from all over the world. Here are the three titles that will have their premiere Polish screenings:
“Chuck Steel: Night of the Trampires” directed by Mike Mort, UK, 2018, 89’.
That award-winning comedy horror movie has been considered the most outrageous stop-motion film ever made. The title character, Chuck Steel, is a lone wolf – a cop on edge - whose regular work is interrupted when he discovers that a horde of trampires, mutated vampire-tramp hybrids, is approaching Los Angeles. The voices in the movie are those of Jennifer Saunders and Paul Whitehouse.
“Mad God”, directed by Phil Tippett, USA, 2021, 83’.
The author, Phil Tippett, is an iconic figure in animation and special effects. It was he who animated dinosaurs in the first Jurassic Park and was responsible for special effects in Star Wars. Every set, picture, or character of Mad God was manually created and animated with the use of traditional stop motion techniques. The plot leads us into a sinister world of tortured souls, decaying bunkers and nightmarish horrors cast from primal fears of the human subconscious.
“My Love Affair With Marriage”, directed by Signe Baumane, Latvia, the USA, Luxembourg 2022, 108’.
A story about the acceptance of the inner female rebellion. The main protagonist, Zelda, is growing up in the belief that the recipe for happiness is to follow behaviours and models presented in tales and songs about love. However, the grown-up Zelda discovers that the more she tries to adapt, the more her own body rebels. The voice cast includes Dagmara Domińczyk (Lost Daughter, Succession), Matthew Modine (Stranger Things, The Dark Knight Rises), Stephen Lang (Avatar, Don’t Breathe), Michele Pawk (Lost in Time, Law and Order) and Cameron Monaghan (Shameless, Gotham).
Note: The only venue to see these premieres will be the Muza Cinema!

ANIMATOR 2022 Festival Passes will be on sale beginning from May 30th. They can be purchased at the Muza Cinema cash-desk or via Bilety24.pl. Participation in all screenings, meetings and live events requires earlier collection of entrance passes at the Muza Cinema cash-desk.

MEDIA ACCREDITATIONS*
- media accreditations are intended for journalists;
- they provide entry to all Festival screenings in the Muza Cinema between 8 and 15 July 2022, entry to selected events, and access to myANIMATOR Internet platform between 15 and 21 July 2022 (Please note that the platform can only be accessed from the territory of Poland);
- accreditations will be possible to obtain beginning from 20 June 2022.

* please note that media accreditations are intended for professionally active journalists who are going to do media coverage of the Festival. The organizer reserves the right to refuse accreditation to persons who do not meet those criteria.

The Oscar-qualifying® ANIMATOR is one of the biggest cultural events devoted to animated films in this part of Europe. Over three hundred productions from all over the world are screened during each edition, divided into such categories as Competition, Retrospectives, Thematic Reviews and Premieres. Besides, ANIMATOR also offers concerts, serials, workshops and a very wide range of activities for the youngest filmgoers. What makes this Poznań-based festival truly special is the omnipresent fusion of animation and music.
