“Silence is an important element of counter-archiving. After all, if woman animation speaks, then it is no less important to understand what it is silent about and why”. 

The films presented during the “Because I am a girl” screening were created during workshops. Their creators are debuting female artists from Central Asian countries, and the films address painful, often traumatic events from the lives of women and girls.
