Animations you saw at this year’s Animator International Animation Film Festival have a chance to win an Oscar!
We were delighted to read the shortlist of films that have a chance to receive an Oscar® nomination in the category of Best Animated Short Film. It includes four titles known from this year’s International Competition of Animated Short Films, including the winner of this category, The Coach by Sylwia Szkiłądź.
The Coach by Sylwia Szkiłądź, the winner of the Golden Pegasus — the Grand Prix for Best Short Film — has made it onto the Oscar shortlist. Alongside it are three animated films well known to animation audiences: Butterfly, directed by Suncana Brkulj; The Girl Who Cried Pearls by Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski; and I Died in Irpin by Anastasia Falileieva.
We are keeping our fingers crossed for all the films and eagerly await the official nominations on January 22!
