Special Guest | Rose Bond

An artist who lights up cities with animation – live, in VR, and on the big screen. 

Rose Bond, a pioneer of experimental animation and the creator of spectacular urban projections, is coming to Poland for the first time – and to the Animator Festival. She will present her work in a variety of formats, from VR and film screenings to meetings with the public and industry professionals.

During the Animator Festival, you will have the opportunity to meet Rose at:

• a screening with an introduction: Animators from Portland, offering insight into the local avant-garde animation scene,
•  a presentation of the VR project Earths to Come, created in collaboration with composer inti figgis-vizueta and the vocal ensemble Roomful of Teeth – from the Venice Biennale to Poznań,
  
• an industry meeting as part of Animator PRO, where she will share her experience of working at the intersection of animation, visual arts, and urban architecture.

She will also join this year’s Polish Competition Jury.

Rose Bond creates at the intersection of expanded cinema, experimental animation, and public art. Her monumental installations bring building façades to life and tell stories that often go unnoticed. Her site-specific works have been commissioned by institutions such as the Smithsonian Institution, the Portland Chinatown Museum, and Nuit Blanche Toronto. Her hand-painted film animations are part of the MoMA collection in New York.
