Rose Bond

Rose Bond tworzy dzieła na styku rozszerzonego kina i animacji eksperymentalnej. Jej wielkoformatowe instalacje animowane poruszają się po alegoriach miejsca i rozświetlają przestrzeń miejską fragmentami często pomijanej – „innej” – rzeczywistości. Wywodząc się z tradycji animacji rysowanej, artystka skoncentrowała się obecnie na pokazach medialnych w przestrzeni publicznej. Jej aktualny projekt, „Earths to Come”, to interdyscyplinarna współpraca z kompozytorką inti figgis-vizueta i Roomful of Teeth, która rozwija estetykę zakorzenioną w kinie w kierunku przestrzennego doświadczenia VR. „Earths to Come” powstawał m.in. podczas rezydencji multidyscyplinarnej w Baryshnikov Arts Center w Nowym Jorku oraz w ramach programu Venice Biennale Immersive College 2024. Wśród najnowszych realizacji znajdują się wielkoformatowe, wieloekranowe projekcje na żywo do utworów symfonicznych awangardowych kompozytorów: „Sinfonia” Luciano Beria (2020) i „Turangalîla-Symphonie” Oliviera Messiaena (2016). Pośród innych instalacji animowanych można znaleźć m.in.: dwa dzieła stworzone dla stałej kolekcji Portland Chinatown Museum (2018), „Illumination No.1 reprise” w Society Hotel w dzielnicy Old Town w Portland (2014), prototyp instalacji medialnej w budynku Arts & Industries Smithsonian Institution (2012), „Broadsided!” w zamku Exeter (2010), „Intra Muros” zaprezentowaną podczas Platform International Animation Festival (2007), ponownie pokazaną na Holland Animation Film Festival w Utrechcie (2008) oraz podczas Nuit Blanche w Toronto (2011). Animacje Bond malowane bezpośrednio na taśmie filmowej były prezentowane na najważniejszych międzynarodowych festiwalach i znajdują się w kolekcji filmowej Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Otrzymała wsparcie m.in. od The Princess Grace Foundation, Bloomberg LP, Prince Bernhard Culture Foundation, Creative Heights Oregon Community Arts, National Film Board of Canada, Arts Council England, Canada Council for the Arts, American Film Institute oraz National Endowment for the arts. Jej twórczość była omawiana w licznych publikacjach, m.in. „Experimental Animation: Origins of a New Art”, „Re-imagining Animation: The Changing Face of the Moving Image”, „The Animation Bible”, „Experimental and Expanded Animation: New Perspectives & Practices” oraz „Experimental Animation: From Analogue to Digital”. Rose Bond to urodzona w Kanadzie artystka medialna, mieszkająca w Portland w stanie Oregon.

Rose Bond creates work at the juncture of expanded cinema and experimental animation. Her large-scale animated installations navigate the allegories of place and illuminate urban space with fragments of the often overlooked – the ‘other’. With roots in frame-by-frame, hand drawn animation, she has since turned her focus towards public media performances. Her current work-in-progress, Earths to Come, an interdisciplinary collaboration with composer inti figgis-vizueta and Roomful of Teeth, pushes her cinema-born aesthetic into the spatialized terrain of VR and domes. Earths to Come, was developed in part at a Multi-disciplinary residency at the Baryshnikov Arts Center in NYC and at the 2024 Venice Biennale Immersive College. Recent work includes large-scale, multi-screen live projections for symphony with works by avant-garde composers Luciano Berio’s Sinfonia, 2020 and Olivier Messiaen‘s Turangalîla- Symphonie, 2016. Other animated installations include: two pieces for the permanent collection at the Portland Chinatown Museum, 2018; Illumination No.1 reprise at Portland’s Old Town Society Hotel, 2014; a prototype for a media installation in the Smithsonian’s Arts & Industries Building, 2012; Broadsided! at Exeter Castle, 2010; Intra Muros, shown during the 2007 Platform International Animation Festival and reprised for the Holland Animation Film Festival, Utrecht, 2008, and Nuit Blanche, Toronto 2011. Bond’s paint-on-film animated films have been presented at major international festivals and are held in the MoMA Film Collection. Dante Rustav

Reżyser filmowy, dyrektor programowy festiwalu TIAF. Urodzone w Taszkencie (Uzbekistan). W 2020 roku wyreżyserował swój pierwszy krótkometrażowy film na podstawie własnego scenariusza – "The Invasion", który zdobył Nagrodę Jury na 26. Międzynarodowym Festiwalu Filmowym w Nancy (Francja) oraz Nagrodę Specjalną na 25. Split IFF. Film był również prezentowany na festiwalach takich jak Tirana IFF, "ShortShorts" (Tokio), "GoEast" (Wiesbaden) i innych. Od 2016 roku promuje niezależne kino uzbeckie (w którym głównie pełnił funkcję producenta) – w tym czasie filmy te były prezentowane na 300 międzynarodowych festiwalach, zdobywając liczne nagrody. Jest również nauczycielem animacji w międzynarodowych warsztatach i studiach skierowanych do młodzieży i dzieci. Koncentrują się one na regionach Azji Centralnej, gdzie młodzi ludzie mają znacznie ograniczony dostęp do edukacji. Od 2020 roku zaangażowany jest w programy kuratorskie – jako selekcjoner i członek jury na różnych festiwalach. W 2022 roku założył i poprowadził, po raz pierwszy od 30 lat niepodległości Uzbekistanu, Międzynarodowy Festiwal Animacji (TIAF). Obecnie pełni funkcję dyrektora programowego festiwalu TIAF.

Film director, program director of TIAF festival. Was born in Tashkent (Uzbekistan).  Directed his first short film in 2020, based on his own script "The Invasion" and won the Jury Award at 26th Nancy IFF (France) Special Award at 25th Split IFF. Also was shown in festivals at Tirana IFF, "ShortShorts" (Tokyo), “GoEast” (Wiesbaden) etc. Since 2016, he has been promoting independent Uzbek films (in which he acted mostly as a producer) - during this time, the films have been shown at 300 international festivals with various awards. He is also an animation teacher in international laboratories and studios for teenagers and children. The focus of these labs is on regions of Central Asia where adolescents have far fewer educational opportunities.  Since 2020, he has been involved in curatorial programs, participating as a selector and jury in various festivals. In 2022 founded and hosted - first in 30 years of the Uzbekistan independence - International Animation Festival (TIAF). And at the moment he is the program director of TIAF festival.

Mike Hollingsworth

Pełnił funkcję reżysera nadzorującego/współproducenta wykonawczego wszystkich sześciu sezonów "BoJack Horseman" oraz reżyserował pierwszy sezon "Tuca and Bertie". Jego odcinek "BoJacka" zatytułowany "Fish Out of Water" zdobył nagrodę Annecy Cristal w 2017 roku i został uznany za najlepszy odcinek telewizyjny roku przez magazyny Variety i Time. W serialu udzielał także głosu postaciom, pisał scenariusze oraz odpowiadał za większość żartów związanych ze zwierzętami. Pisał również dla "Triptank" stacji Comedy Central i był reżyserem nadzorującym serialu HBO "The Life and Times of Tim". Jego niezależne animowane krótkie metraże były prezentowane m.in. na festiwalu animacji Annecy we Francji, HBO Aspen Comedy Festival, Nicktoons Animation Festival, konferencji Pictoplasma w Niemczech oraz na Animation Block Party. Ostatnio Mike pełnił funkcję reżysera nadzorującego serialu "Standing By" dla Hulu/Bento Box. Wcześniej związany był umową producencką z działem animacji dla dorosłych Netflixa, gdzie był producentem wykonawczym serialu "Inside Job" oraz producentem wykonawczym, scenarzystą i reżyserem nadzorującym "Cat Burglar".

He served as Supervising Director/Co-Executive Producer of all six seasons of BoJack Horseman and piloted the first season of Tuca and Bertie. His BoJack episode “Fish Out of Water” won the 2017 Annecy Cristal and was voted the number one episode of television by Variety and Time magazines that year. On the show he also did voices, some writing, and most of the animal gags. He has written on Comedy Central’s Triptank and was Supervising Director on HBO’s The Life and Times of Tim. His independent animated shorts have been featured in The Annecy Animation festival in France, The HBO Aspen Comedy Festival, The Nicktoons Animation Festival, The Pictoplasma Conference in Germany and Animation Block Party, to name a few.  Most recently Mike was the Supervising Director for Standing By for Hulu/Bento Box. Before that, he was under an overall deal at Netflix Adult Animation where he was an EP on Inside Job and EP/writer/Supervising Director on Cat Burglar.
