Referencing a body of work from low tech paint-on-film direct animation to immersive VR theatre, Rose Bond traces her evolving career trajectory and shares procedural assets that sequentially opened her practice to cinematic experiences outside the traditional movie house. Specific attention will be paid to more recent works involving live multiscreen projection as well as a recent collaboration, entitled Earths to Come, with composer Initi figgis-vizueta, the Grammy award winning vocal ensemble Roomful of Teeth and Bond’s hand-penciled visualizations. This piece, sparked by an Emily Dickinson poem, premièred at the
81st Venice Biennale Cinema Immersive program in 2024. The slide lecture, embedded with clips and preproduction aids, will be followed by a Q&A exchange period.
