Yellow Submarine’s 50th Anniversary

Fifty years ago, a film was made that changed the history of animation. A film about the power of love and music; about the importance of fighting for ideals. A film that became the manifesto the young generation at the time had been waiting for. To us, Yellow Submarine remains, for better or worse, an extremely relevant film to this day. A film that continues to enchant new generations of viewers. While we preserve the memory of the Beatles, let us not forget about George Dunning’s terrific film and the animators, who, under the guidance of Heinz Edelmann, created this milestone in animation history.

The visuals for the Yellow Submarine turns 50 tribute concert by the band the THE FRUITCAKES were created by animation students from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. We would like to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Yellow Submarine with a special project orchestrated by a well-known Polish artist Robert Turło. Together with a team of young animators, Turło created the visuals for five songs by the Beatles to accompany the live performance of the band THE FRUITCAKES.dźwiękowej animacji i zostanie zagrana przez Orkiestrę Poznańskiej Piętnastki.
